Hasnah Omar began her career at Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), where she spent approximately nine years in the Bank Examination Department, overseeing examinations of various financial institutions. She later became the Head of the Public Affairs Unit, where she played a key role in managing the press and public relations for BNM’s policies and crises.
In 1991, Hasnah transitioned to the Securities Commission (SC), where she held senior positions, including Director of Market Oversight Business Group, until her retirement in 2013. She also served as a member of the Financial Stability Committee of the Financial Services Authority of Labuan and as a Board Member of the Capital Market Compensation Fund. In 2009, she was seconded to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila as a Senior Financial Sector Specialist, advising on Islamic finance and leading financial sector projects across Southeast Asia before returning to the SC in 2011.
Hasman Yusri is an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Oversight Committee of MIDF Amanah Asset Management. He was appointed to the Board of MIDF Amanah Asset Management on 13 April 2017. He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and Fellow of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Prior to his retirement in 2016, he held various positions in Petroliam Nasional Bhd (PETRONAS), Malakoff Bhd and KPMG. He is currently the Chairperson of MIDF Amanah Asset Management’s Oversight Committee and a member of the Audit and Risk Management Committee.
Tai Keat Chai is an Independent Non-Executive Director and an Independent Member of the Oversight Committee of MIDF Amanah Asset Management. He was appointed to the Board of MIDF Amanah Asset Management on 27 December 2016. He is an accountant by profession and obtained his Fellow Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales in 1977. Tai has a wide background in accounting, finance, fund management, banking, stockbroking, and property. He is currently the Chairperson of MIDF Amanah Asset Management’s Audit and Risk Management committee and member of the Oversight Committee.
Dato' Seri Diraja Nur Julie Gwee Ariff is a seasoned investment banker with over 20 years of experience in debt markets and corporate finance. She joined MIDF Amanah Investment Bank in 2012, initially as a Director in Corporate Advisory Structuring, and now leads as the Head of Debt Markets. Under her leadership, the Debt Markets team has completed several landmark transactions, earning multiple awards, with a strong focus on sustainable financing. Before joining MIDF, she served as Director of Investment Banking at ECM Libra Investment Bank and held various advisory roles in other securities firms and investment banks. Dato' Seri Diraja Julie is a Chartered Banker with an MBA in Finance from Nottingham Trent University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics & Finance from Curtin University of Technology, Australia. She is currently the CEO of MIDF Amanah Investment Bank.
Working Experience
Shan was appointed Chief Executive Officer of MIDF Amanah Asset Management Bhd in October 2022, after joining MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Bhd as Head of Equity Market (Dealing) in August 2021.With over 20 years of experience in investment and asset management, Shan began his career at AON Services Group in the US in 1999, then served as an Investment Executive at Hong Leong Assurance Berhad from 2000 to 2002. He spent over 16 years at ValueCAP Group, where he led the management of proprietary funds and later established VCAP Asset Managers Sdn Bhd, focusing on sustainable investments integrated with an ESG framework. He has also held advisory roles with Urusharta Jamaah Sdn Bhd and Tenggara Capital Seed 1 LP and managed a Global Mixed Asset Fund with Fortress Capital Asset Management. Shan holds a degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Hartford, USA, and an MBA from Charles Stuart University, Australia.
