En. Mohd Bahroddin Badri

En. Mohd Bahroddin Badri is a Shariah Consultant at ISRA Consulting Sdn Bhd and a Researcher at the International Shariah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA). He previously lectured at the International Islamic University Malaysia and held key roles such as Deputy Chairman of the Shariah Committee at Citibank Malaysia. He is currently the Chairman of the Shariah Advisory Committee at MBSB Bank Berhad and serves on the Shariah Committees of SwissRe (Retakaful)and KOPSYA. He is also an EXCO member of the Association of Shariah Advisors for Islamic Finance (ASAS) and holds a Master's in Shariah (Economics) from the University of Malaya and a Bachelor's in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage from IIUM. He is a Certified Shariah Adviser and Auditor (CSAA) ofAAOIFI. 

En. Mohd Bahroddin is pursuing a doctorate in Business at the International University Malaya-Wales (IUMW) and has made significant contributions to Islamic finance by developing Shariah-related policy guidelines and Shariah-compliant schemes for Malaysian regulators. He has authored textbooks like "Islamic Financial System: Principles & Operations" and "Sukuk: Principles and Practices." With extensive experience in advisory services and consultancy projects for international clients, he actively promotes Islamic finance through research and presentations at international conferences.

En. Nasrun bin Mohamad Ghazali

En. Nasrun bin Mohamad Ghazali is a lecturer in Muamalat, Islamic Finance, and Economics, and he also serves as the Head of En. Nasrun bin Mohamad Ghazali isa lecturer in Muamalat, Islamic Finance, and Economics, serving as the Head of Muamalat Research and Training at the Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA. He is also an independent Shariah consultant. His 18-year banking career includes roles at Malayan Banking Berhad, Ambank (M) Berhad, Al Rajhi Banking & Investment Corporation (Malaysia) Berhad, and MUFG Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, where he rose to Head of Shariah. He also worked as a senior consultant at Infopro Sdn. Bhd. and as a waqf manager at UiTM. He currently serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Shariah Advisory Committee of MBSB Bank Berhad. 

Specializing in Islamic finance and economics, En. Nasrun holds double Master’s Degrees in Shariah and Information Technology and double Bachelor’s Degrees in Islamic Sciences of al-Hadith and Accounting. He also has a Diploma in Shariah and several certificates in Islamic finance. He actively conducts training, writes, and reviews research related to Islamic finance and Mu’amalat, and is pursuing a doctoral degree in Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh at the International Islamic University Malaysia.

Ahmad Lutfi Abdull Mutalip @ Talib

Ahmad Lutfi Abdull Mutalip commenced legal practice with Messrs Hisham Sobri & Kadir in April 1996 and became a partner in January 2000.  He is one of the founding partners of Messrs Azmi & Associates and is currently the Managing Partner/Head, Global Financial Services & Islamic Banking.  

Throughout his practice, Lutfi has been involved in numerous exercises including private debt securities, syndicated financing, structured &project financing, privatisation and build-operate-transfer/build-operate-own projects including water privatisation, mergers & acquisition, energy & power related transactions, oil & gas, joint ventures to telecommunication projects and building contracts.

Sohibus Samahah Datuk Dr. Luqman Bin Hj. Abdullah

Sohibus Samahah Datuk Dr. Luqmanb in Hj. Abdullah is currently the Federal Territories Mufti and a senior lecturer at the Department of Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh, Academy of Islamic Studies, the University of Malaya. He obtained his Ph.D in Islamic Law from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland (2005) and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Shariah, the University of Malaya (1993). His areas of specialization are Islamic Law of Mu’amalat, Islamic Jurisprudence, Islamic Legal Theory and Islamic Legal Textual Studies.

Apart from being a Member of the Shariah Advisory Committee of MBSB Bank Berhad, he also serves as a Member of the Shariah and Fatwa Committee at various financial institutions, including Takaful Ikhlas Malaysia Berhad, Amanah Raya Berhad and Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia). He has been involved in various professional membership and trainings on Islamic finance apart from being actively involved in writing books and articles, as well as presenting papers in various conferences at both international and national levels.

Dr. Ahmad Faizol Bin Ismail

Dr.Ahmad Faizol bin Ismail is a Senior Lecturer and Head of Shariah Department, Faculty of Islamic Contemporary Studies at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). Before that, he was the Post-Graduate Coordinator at the Faculty of Islamic Contemporary Studies, UniSZA. Dr. Ahmad Faizol obtained his Ph.D. in Law from School of Law, University of Leeds, United Kingdom, and Masters of Shariah from the University of Malaya (UM). He also holds a degree in Shariah from Al-Azhar University and Diploma in Islamic Studies (Shariah) from Kolej Ugama Sultan Zainal Abidin (KUSZA). He specializes in Islamic financial system, Shariah governance, and corporate governance.

He teaches various subjects such as fiqh al-mua`malat, usul al-fiqh, alqawaidal-fiqhiyyah and al-siyasah alshar`iyyah which are also his research interests. He has conducted several types of research in social sciences and humanities, accumulating more than RM1 million research grants in value. He managed multiple international conferences and seminars, as well as other institutional academic activities in his previous institutions. After finishing his Ph.D. in2019, he has been active as an editor for several academic journals, especially in Islamic finance.

Pn. Apnizan Binti Abdullah

Apnizan Abdullah holds an LL.B (Honours), a Master of Comparative Laws (MCL), and an LL.BS from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), where she received multiple academic honours, including the Best Student Award for Islamic Banking &Takaful. In 2011, she earned the Chartered Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP) designation from INCEIF with distinction. Apnizan was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2006 and practiced law before serving as a Research Fellow at IAIS Malaysia and a Researcher at ISRA. She has also lectured at the University of Malaya and the University of Tunku Abdul Rahman. 

Apnizan has authored numerous research papers and articles and presented her findings at various seminars and conferences. She has been active in conducting training and providing advisory services in Islamic financial laws, focusing on regulatory and governance aspects. Her consultancy work has included engagements with the Central Bank of Maldives, Companies Commission of Malaysia, UNICEF, and others. She is currently a Senior Associate at MAHALAWYERS and an Ad-hoc Senior Consultant at Tawafuq Consultancy, specializing in Islamic finance and wealth management.

Dr. Muhammad Najib Abdullah

Dr. Muhammad Najib Bin Abdullah was appointed as a Shariah Committee member and Shariah Advisor for MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Berhad and MIDF Amanah Asset Management Berhad in July 2021. He assumed the role of Chairman for both positions in April 2023. Currently, he isa lecturer and deputy dean at the Faculty of Syariah and Law, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), where he has been teaching various Islamic law and jurisprudence subjects since 2004. Dr. Najib holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences with a specialization in Usul Fiqh from IIUM. 

Since 2007, Dr. Najib has been a member of the Syariah Advisory Panel for the World Fatwa Management and Research Institute at USIM. He is also a Fellow of the Islamic Finance and Wealth Management Institute at USIM, highlighting his extensive expertise in Islamic finance. Dr. Najib has authored numerous books, journals, research papers, and articles related to Islamic finance, Fiqh Mu’amalat, and contemporary issues in Islamic jurisprudence.
